| Blair Castle is just off the main A9 road at
Blair Atholl in Highland Perthshire between Perth and Inverness.
It is some 35 miles (56km) north of Perth.
From Inverness
Take the A9 all the way south to Blair Atholl. The castle and its
entrance are very well signposted in and around the village.
From Glasgow
Take the A/M80 north to Stirling, remembering to bypass the city
and follow the signs for Perth then Inverness which will take you
on to the A9 north. Once you have passed the signs for Pitlochry,
look out some 5 miles on for the exit to Blair Atholl and the signs
for the castle.
From Edinburgh
Take the M90 to Perth outskirts where you will follow the signs
for and join the A9 north to Inverness. Bypass Pitlochry and proceed
as above.
From Aberdeen
The more scenic route is the A93 road via Ballater, Braemar and
Glenshee to the A924 turn-off at Bridge of Cally, for Kirkmichael
then head west to Pitlochry. Look out at Pitlochry for the signs
for the A9 north to Blair Atholl (7 miles) The quickest route from
Aberdeen is to come south on the A90 via Forfar, then Coupar Angus
and Dunkeld.
From Dundee
Take the A90 to the outskirts of Perth then proceed as for Edinburgh
above
There is a train station in Blair Atholl about half a mile (1,000
metres) from the castle, with a regular daily connecting service
with all the major Scottish cities. There is a daily express service
to and from London Kings Cross and intermediate stations in the
the south stops at nearby Pitlochry Station.
